Schizophrenia movies?!?

Question:
Does anyone know of any films which attempt bring schizophrenia to the screen? I know there are some talking-heads documentaries out there but what I really want is a film which gives the audience an impression of what it's like to have schizophrenia. I want a film which creates, as well as possible, the impression of *being* schizophrenic in the mind of the audience.

Answer:
One of my favourites is Don Juan de Marco, with Marlon Brando & Johnny Depp. Not only an unusual portrayal of schizophrenia but a really lovely film. the film "jacobs ladder" reminded me of what my schizophrenia was like "pi" did too "A Beautiful Mind" kind of goes without saying. Two others I liked were: "Strange Voices," starring Valerie Harper and Nancy McKeon "Promise" starring James Garner and James Woods I think the protagonist was schizophrenic. Jacobs Ladder really freaked me out when I saw it. "Donnie Darko" is my FAVORITE MOVIE almost ever. It deals with a paranoid schizophrenic. It is set in 1988, but it has alot of famous people in it...Drew Barymore, Noah Wyle, Patrick Swayze, and Jake Gyelhall (?spelling) is the kid with sz. It is a GOOD movie that really makes you think... You asked about movies that describe the schizophrenia experience. A good one to watch is "Angel Baby" a winner of 7 Australian Film Institute Awards. It's about a young couple in love and they both have schizophrenia. I have to warn you, the ending is kind of sad. Also, "the Caveman's Valentine" about a man with sz that lives in Central Park that helps solve a crime. Samuel L. Jackson plays the leading role. I found these both to be very good movies. most dramas are geared toward populous risk scenarios of mental illness as opposed to introspection, not that we shouldn't assess risk, but it must entail objectivity or there are some very clear human rights issues guess I've never seen such objectivity, but their have been parodies of the lack of it, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest for instance I crossposted this to alt.support.schizophrenia, perhaps someone can present an objective answer from there
