Question:
Basically, I have problems in new situations. Starting new jobs, for instance, is a killer for me. Started a new job three months ago and had a bad time for a while. Fortunately, its all calmed down a bit and I'm more 'used' to it. On a training course this week which means 4 nights away from home. No problem in advance - in fact looking forward to some peace and quiet.
trouble is when I get here all I’ve done is panic etc. strange situation etc. and all that. Trying to tell myself it’s only 4 night but no use. Silly or what?
Any suggestions?
Answer:
Time to get a new doc ? Humble? my point was... if a bit of agoraphobia is loomin', a fear of
bein' out'ah familiar surroundings, (which i don't think his is severe,
i could be wrong, but that's why they don't pay me tha big bucks,) my
suggestion was to merely force oneself out'ah that comfort arena with
perhaps a bit'ah over-tha-top aggressive behavior to the point of
possibly comedic interludes with the situation that is igniting
possible fear, anxiety, displacement, etc.
sometimes goin' full-tilt bozo in hesitent situation will deplete the
energy we sometimes put so much stock in and it loses it's power.
for example: i have a friggin heart attack if i think about gettin'
tha mail (and my mailbox is attached to my house right outside my front
door), but i can get on'ah plane, cross tha border in TJ and thow down
with sum mexicans for 2 days , drink tequila in tha spanish ghetto,
participate in stuff that could get me stuck in a mexican jail and
never think a thing about it.
sometimes the little things overwhelm what the bigger things could
deplete and possibly give way to perform the more "common" tasks in
life, but that's just me.
i mean... if i can get on muh ex's plane fly in a 4 seater to seattle
and bunji jump with my friggin WEIGHT ONE MY ARM WRITTEN IN 5" LETTERS
WITH A SHARPIEEEEEEE...(god.) and run'ah 10k for the March Dimes, i
somehow felt less anxious swimming with his 12 year old daughter in the
backyard of his house.
i guess it's my own personal way of blowin' stuff out'ah proportion in
order to gain perspective.
so if i still make no ing sense?
(we must'ah met somewhere b'fore !)
ok... now i'm makin' no sense ta me which means i'm makin' sense ta me.
