Question:
Hot lines for depression treatment? After reading a few posts, and seeing what I am causing, and
given all of the issues going on with me, INS...going through
severe withdrawals of my medicine, which the doctor is in severe
breach of my treatment as all Pharmacists...and all have said it
is dangerous not having these medicines, and marital problems
all in one smash. I think I am close...it is scary. I don't know what
to do. ...life is just totally meaningless at this point now! I just
wish I knew...why me? In my own way, for my respect for Gord,
I try to do the right thing...but in this case I feel I have really
blown it. I just can't remain in here anymore…I don't really have
anyone I can talk to. I have been crying all evening, which takes
a lot for me to do, worrying, and hoping Gord gets through his
surgery ok. I love coming in here and trying to add some humor
and enjoying the posts, and chatting with everyone. I see some
post sometimes that I don't like, etc...I respond to them, but being
the state I am in...I have screwed up....and I don't want to
create any enemies, and disrupt this group...but in my mind, I am
afraid that is what I am doing. But I do ask a favor from each and
every one of you...if you ever...come across a person with any
type of depression...please...I beg you, do what you can to help
them…as this is a horrible disease...and no one deserves to ever
experience it, not even your enemy. I don't know what the future
holds for me...if I even have one, but I can only hope. I enjoyed
my time here...you are the greatest people I have had the chance
to chat with.
Answer:
Just about everybody here has screwed up in this group at one time
or another. The problem is, we only read the words people are typing. We
can't see enthusiasm, tone of voice, whether someone is being sarcastic or
the opposite, or anything like that when we communicate in print, and
sometimes misunderstandings just happen. And eventually, it all comes out in
the wash. We get over it and we move on. It's not a big deal. If you enjoy
being here, and it helps your situation, then stay here. None of the
regulars here are going to tell you to leave just because you had an error
in judgment. If some of the non-regular members do so, ignore them. They are
trolling to try to get you worked up. Both you and Ron, and the rest of us
know it was just a little misunderstanding, and the two of you have made
your peace, and that's what counts.
(Stick around. Your cross-dressing, cross-posting mix-up really cracked me
up). You’re not considering leaving the group over a simple
misunderstanding. I have no hard feelings, and my guess is that no one in
the group does. You obviously enjoy the camaraderie of the group, so why
give that up over a minor disagreement? Actually I don't think I should've
responded as I did ...... I'll admit I was a bit irritated at your second
reply but ..... I needed to sit down and relax before responding ...... had
I done that my response would not have seemed so abrasive.
Besides .... I was hoping that you might stay in the group and post a
picture or two of you in the skirt and pumps. :o) Hang in there, Doug. I have a sister going through a lot of the same
stuff - years of chronic pain, possible MS, lots of surgeries, a
marriage gone very sour, and depression that doesn't respond to any of
the usual drugs (unfortunately she inherited our grandmother's
sensitivity to pharmaceuticals -she can't get a therapeutic level
without horrendous side effects) and she's alone, 1500 miles from
family. Don't worry about Gord, he's got all of us for that - take care of
yourself. There are hotlines to call if you need to talk and get help,
immediate and long term:

As my dear, departed Father used to tell me
"Get Chore Butt back in Hyar!"
no need to go. And we don't want it. I have been there, although not to
the extent you are, but have know those who have. Hang in, post a smiley
or two--and don't sweat the small stuff...
Find another doc, get a second medical opinion, and hang around. It gets
better. I'm gonna steal one of Ed's lines, referring to Roger...."what he said!"
Roger hit it on the nose, as did everybody else who chimed in.
As one of my other favorite singer-songwriters says "if we weren't all
crazy, we would go insane" Maybe get yourself a copy of Unreal Tournament, or Carmageddon
TDR2000....nice computer games where all problems can be solved by shooting
them, or running over them. It's a nice temporary escape from the real
world, where things get too dang complicated sometimes...just don't get the
two worlds crossed up..in the real world, as opposed to Carmageddon, you
DON'T get points for running over cows! Had to remind myself of that, a
while back, when I found a cow in the middle of our road!8D You guys came up with some real great tunes, esp Alberta Bound...you
can't help but tap that foot that that song..I love it!! But if I were
to re-arrainge the words...I have one for my X-Doctor,,,"Boss Man"
Maybe title it "Shrink Man"..hahahaha....
