Best Medicine to Overcome Total Isolation?

Question:
Is there a medicine of choice for fighting the urge to overcome "wanting" to be alone. I do not like to interact with people at all! I think it is depression that has probably gone way too far. I am only comfortable when alone. (Oh the anxiety is improved with the imipramine and occassional xanax for emergencies). Is there one medicine that has had more success for what I am describing?

Answer:
Wish there were just 1 med "da cure" med but we aren't that fortunate. Sounds like you are a little depressed and possibly have some social phobia. Have you talked with your pdoc about this? What exactly happens when you are around people? Are you anxious, do you fear you are being judged by others, do you feel trapped? Do you prefer to be alone? Some people are loners and like it that way. Or do you really want to be able to interact with others, but more comfortably? I think it is very important to find out what is causing this isolation, whether it be depression and/or social anxiety. Getting your disorders effectively controlled with medication and cognitive behavioral therapy would help a lot. Desensitizing yourself slowly to social situations could really make a difference.Interesting thought, sorry I can't be of any help, the depression I go though seem to fade along with anxiety I can understand how overwhelming anxiety get that it leads into depressions for me once anxiety starts to fade away I normally feel overwhelmingly good depression that lead into anxiety might be better treated with a anti-depression medication your doctor might be able to help you with this psycolgist help me work though the worst of my conditions and along with medication is usually the best results If you focus on yourself enough you'll learn to regonize your anger for what it is, a destructive force to yourself, it basically does more harm to you than anyone else
(I probably heard that thousands of time growing up) anger and hatred cause stress to our being (mental stress) stress leads to anxiety, panics and other physical symptom reconizing this is the start to changing how we view things not easy to understand more difficult to change but once you do you'll find yourself happier and healthier and you do it for yourself If someone does something that annoys you, you will not get angry you replace it with understanding, and you do this for yourself, when all else fails Dig down deep within yourself focus on what you are doing learn to breathe find happiness within yourself put a smile on your face and move on because your doing for yourself
