Question:
A long time back, I used to take prozac, but it doesn't help. I don't know
if i needed to take higher doses. I used to take something else I don't
remember. My friend told me to get zoloft. What is your opinion?
Answer:
Based only on my experience, I would not recommend trying Effexor
first. I had some bad side effects, and it didn't alleviate my
depression. It can also be bad when coming off it, although I didn't
have that problem. There are some that have less bad side effects,
prozac for one. I was on Effexor XR for about two weeks and I
started feeling very bad -- but I am not willing to blame that entirely
on the Effexor, but more likely, withdrawal from the Lexapro. many
people seem to do well on Effexor, and my experience should not be
taken as the 'standard' result. Hopefully the Effexor will greatly
help you with your depression
