Panic/Anxiety Attacks along with depression - refusal of benefits?

Question:
I have been refused Incapacity Benefit after going through an assessment by the benefits agency. I suffer from chronic anxiety and panic attacks, I think that I am also falling into a state of depression because of this as I can not motivate myself to do the activities and hobbies I used to enjoy. I have tried to hold down jobs but the panic attacks and anxiety iether made it impossible to work or I became too ill. I would dearly like to hear from you if you sufer from the same condition and have claimed benefit (successfully or not), were you successful?, if you were not, did you appeal?

Answer:
I was also refused ( due to lack of NI contibutions as i remember). I applied and recive Income support with a disability premium ( aprox £149 a fortnight). Also i recive the lower rate of DLA ( cause i need help in getting around outside, due to the pa's and some agoraphobia) at aprox £55 month. I too have been through the same system. I managed to get through the medical but it made me feel more ill than i was feeling before i had to go. I managed to convince this person that I was really ill.I suggest you get some support ie CAB who will fight your corner. I read an artical somewhere i forget now that they are going to change the questionare to help people with mental problems (I hope so) luckly I am working at the moment,
