I've just been diagnosed with depression and I have been prescribed with the anti depression pill, Zoloft. How do they work for you?

Question:
I've just been diagnosed as 'depressed' by my doctor and I am so scared. He gave me Zoloft pills to take. I was wondering if anyone has taken these? Of course, I have read about the pill, side effects, etc. but I wanted to hear from someone who has actually taken them. How do they work for you?

Answer:
I've been taking zoloft for three weeks now. I've noticed that my depression has not gone away but the feelings of utter devastation have ebbed for the most part. I find that shortly after I take the meds I feel great for about an hour then by evening I am exhausted. I am sleeping better at night but my appetite is not what it was. I hope that you find that this works for you.
For me the zoloft was pretty subtle. It was actually somewhat difficult to ascribe feelings as being a response to it. Tho I felt that it was being effective. I have toyed with the idea of going back on it again, just to see if it could help me more, and to see if I can place it's past in a new perspective. If that makes any sense at all.
