Question:
To make a long story short, have tried most drugs out there, none lifted my depression. Wellbutrin lifted the depression, but also made me angry/hostile. Is there anything that can be taken along with wellbutrin that can help with this...?
Answer:
I had that same response, but didn't realize it until I read
your message. I'm >already< a blowtop -- I'm both impatient and
indecisive, a maddening combination (for others around me, too) -- and
wondered why, for a few weeks there, I was getting angrier rather than less
angry... I would suggest Ativan for the anger. It is a short term fix but it might
help get you through. The Wellbutrin has been a good drug for me for a
long time. You might have needed an anti-anxiety med or a sedative of some sort to mix
with it to mellow you out. Sometimes depression accompanies anxiety or
other problems than aren't evident till the depression is lifted. My
anxiety makes me want to kick peoples butts for the least little thing (I
don't but I want to badly). It also makes me very irritable and fly off
easily. I'm kinda like those cartoons you see with the steam blowing out
peoples ears when they get stressed out. The good news is there are
anti-anxiety meds that do the job on this problem.
